A
student's physical and mental fitness is enhanced by the regular
exercise and love of movement which dance gives them. Whether
it can be classical moves in ballet, the more contemporary
steps of jazz and hip hop or the strenuous activities of acrobatic
classes, dance builds a strength of body and character which
will be with the student forever.
We offer a wide range of classes from Introductory level
for the beginners, through to our Company Level classes
for theserious dancers. In between
can be found a full selection of intermediate classes and recreational
classes to fill the needs of virtually any requirement. Also available
are Teachers Training Classes for those who wish to train the dancers
of the future.
Classes
offered in:
Pre School & Introductory: These programs
are designed to introduce a young child to dance basics and
begin to develop in them a love of dance and an appreciation
for music.
Tap: Classical, Funk and Hoof'in styles
are covered with particular stress put on the quality of
sound, technique and stylized movement.
Jazz: Classes include warm-up, down the
floor progressions and combinations in jazz and lyrical
styles.
Acrobatics: Acrobatic classes consist
of the warm-up, tricks, balance work and tumbling routines
of traditional acrobatics, but has the addition of dance
steps to link each of the acro elements together.
Classical Ballet (R. A. D.): The most
elementary and important of all dance instruction, consists
of barre work, center practice, adage and allegro as well
as pointe work for the major students. Qualified students
are entered into R. A. D. Children'sand Major Examinations.
Hip Hop: A “fun”high energy
dance form that has it's roots in jazz. Hip Hop is street
dancing that was made famous in dance music videos.
